Mō te tūnga | About the role
Within the Asset Management, Infrastructure and digital Assets Group, our National Manager Non-Custodial/Community Corrections Services is looking to round out the team with a third Property Manager.
Joining the Non-Custodial/CCS Property team, you'll be part of a small, affable, and highly experienced property team. Alongside of your colleagues, you will be responsible for the management and continuous improvement of the property portfolio within the Department's Non-Custodial/CCS space. This is a substantial and diverse portfolio that comprises both leased and owned sites which are located across New Zealand.
Commercial challenge in this role comes from managing leasing arrangements, acquiring new tenancy accommodation, or renewing existing ones, and managing key relationships between landlords, developers and other stakeholders in a complex local and nationwide environment.
You will also contribute to implementing outcomes from National Portfolio Strategies, facilities management asset plans and governance processes across the portfolio to best practice standards and will lead investment case development for capital projects. Working with business operations and the project delivery team, you will ensure that diverse business requirements are captured and delivered.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing a large commercial property portfolio within a corporate or government environment
- A proven track record in negotiating agreements to lease (including acquisitions), leases, rent reviews and other related property transactions
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to the management of commercial property
- Knowledge and/or an appreciation of the principles of energy, sustainability management and asset management planning
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of stakeholders.
