Ngā kawenga | About the role
The Departments Digital team supply technology and related services to a hugely diverse stakeholder group including staff, partners, suppliers, agencies, and the people under our management.
Specifically, the Database Administrator is responsible for providing key data assets, reports, and insights to a variety of users and external agencies. The Data Warehouse sits on an Oracle Exadata, running 19c databases and delivers reports and dashboards using Oracle Analytics server (OAS) application.
Reporting to the Technical Lead – Database and Integration, the primary purpose of this role is to support for the Data Warehouse databases plus existing and emerging applications ensuring they are safe, secure and are tuned. In addition, you'll be working closely with your colleagues to deliver new and enhanced reporting.

You will have experience in a similar role and a thorough understanding of DBA processes, including the following:
- Sound experience with Oracle in installing, patching and troubleshooting
- Ability to work autonomously
- Solid problem solving and strong communication skills
- A desire to upskill in emerging technologies
A few other skills that would be awesome are;
- Oracle Business Intelligence or Oracle Analytics Server
- PL/SQL
- Azure DevOps
- Python or other Object Orientated programming languages
You'll also provide on-call support of the databases and applications as part of an agreed roster.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $124,758 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $106,045 - $149,710 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
