We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated lawyer to join our team, working on a diverse range of employment and industrial relations matters within the public sector. This role offers exposure to challenging work, including individual and collective employment matters, and requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. You'll be working alongside experienced professionals who can support your development, while also having the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and make meaningful contributions.

- Experience in employment law or public sector legal work
- Strong knowledge of the Employment Relations Act and related ER Legislation, the Public Service Act, the Official Information Act and the Privacy Act
- Solid understanding of the requirements of the ‘good employer' principle, relevant employment and other legislation and professional HR standards and practice
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders and provide clear, practical legal advice
- Sound understanding of The Treaty / Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies to Department of Corrections (Ara Poutama Aotearoa) and our mahi
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $91,234 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $77,549- $109,481 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
