The Commission is going through an exciting period of growth, driven by increases in its functions, duties and powers, and supported by additional Government funding.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst within our Infrastructure Regulation branch in our Regulatory Performance team.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Youwill be joining a team responsible for completing the summary analysis of our regulated infrastructure sectors. This team publishes analysis of the performance of regulated businesses as well as providing internal analysis and insights to support our other regulatory teams.
You will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects assessing the performance of regulated suppliers and answering key questions for the sector. You'll also be key in working collaboratively with our stakeholders, both internal and external to refine our data and analysis offerings and present information in a variety of ways to target different audiences.

To be successful in this role you will have experience working in a fast-paced project team environment. You will be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to think, write and communicate clearly for a wide range of audiences. You will also be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable facilitating meetings with stakeholders.
Ideally, you will also have experience in some of the following:
• data management, research, analysis and insights' interpretations
• analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, R
• the ability to interpret quantitative information to tell a story
• relationship management skills
• experience in infrastructure sectors such as energy, airports, or telecommunications
A university degree in a relevant field (e.g. commerce, economics, statistics, data science) as well as economic regulation experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
