Ko mātou tēnei | Who we are
Te Komihana Tauhokohoko | The Commerce Commission is New Zealand's competition, fair trading, consumer credit and economic regulatory agency.
We have been confirmed as the economic regulator for the Government's Local Water Done Well (LWDW) system and we're focussed on building our Water team to ensure we have the expertise in-house to deliver on our remit.
We are looking for an experienced regulatory sector accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career for the long-term benefit of all New Zealanders. The role can be based in either our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
The work of the Commerce Commission will give New Zealanders peace of mind that revenue collected by local government water services providers through rates or water charges is being spent on the level of water infrastructure needed.
You will provide financial and accounting advice to assist in the development of our initial information disclosure requests, and then to support our ongoing monitoring and assessment roles under LWDW. Your attention to detail and technical strengths will make you an essential member of our close-knit water team.
This role provides the opportunity to work in a high-performing team that delivers great outcomes, and is collaborative, flexible, and supportive. You'll have great opportunities to work with smart people, leading interesting, challenging, and meaningful projects.
The indicative salary range for this role is $145,986 - $171,748 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.
