Regional Manager, Planned Care Outsourcing - Central | Te Ikaroa at Te Whatu Ora, Wellington

About the Role

The primary purpose of the role is to oversee and optimise the insourcing and outsourcing of planned care surgical across the region. This role involves operational coordination, assisting with implementation of new outsourcing processes and panel agreements, contract management and ensuring compliance with performance KPI's, healthcare regulations and quality standards.

The regional manager will collaborate with the Central Te Ikaroa senior leadership team, programme manager planned care, hospital leadership teams, district planned care managers, national delivery and procurement teams, external private hospital providers and internal teams to enhance patient access, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in planned care surgical services.

This role will serve as a liaison resource between hospitals, private hospital providers, procurement and other healthcare providers for planned care surgical outsourcing.

About you

You're an experienced professional with strong project and change management skills, known for using analytics and information solutions to drive tangible outcomes. You have a proven ability to operate effectively in complex service environments, applying critical thinking and sound judgement to evaluate risk, navigate competing priorities, and maintain momentum under pressure.

You bring a confident, engaging communication style and are comfortable presenting to a wide range of audiences. With proficiency in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management, you're adept at building strong partnerships that support strategic goals. Your interpersonal skills and ability to adapt quickly make you a trusted collaborator, capable of responding with professionalism and clarity in fast-paced or challenging situations.
