Principal Advisor, HSS Funder - Planning, Funding & Outcomes at Te Whatu Ora, Wellington

  • Full-time, permanent role based in Wellington.
  • Provide intellectual leadership using evidence from across the NZ health system and other jurisdictions to improve the programme of work being undertaken by the HSS Funder.
  • Work with the Director, Funding - Hospitals to make a difference.

About the Role

As Principal Advisor to the Director, you will champion the development, implementation and communication of HSS Funder programmes of work, working with the wider Planning, Funding and Outcomes Business Unit and Regions to deliver. You will directly support the Director, Funding – Hospitals to ensure the strategies that inform the work programmes are well informed by evidence and the intellectual leadership of those across the organisation.  You will work closely with the Director, General Managers and subject matter experts to enhance the overall implementation of programmes.

About you

You will be a systems and strategic thinker capable of working alongside the Director, Funding - Hospitals.

We're looking for someone who can establish trusted relationships, navigate multiple programmes of work, and provide thoughtful and strategic advice.

Your ability to synthesise information, provide clarity and communicate effectively with executive leaders will be paramount in this role.

You will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive and comparable relevant experience.
  • The ability to collaborate to provide high-quality written communications.
  • Experience as a Principal, considering both strategic and operational needs.
  • A strategic outlook with the ability to analyse large and complex issues.
