Regional Clinical Lead for Cancer Services Delivery Network at Te Whatu Ora, Wellington

  • Based anywhere in the Central Region, however there is some flexibility for the right candidate

The Central Region

Central Region (Te Ikaroa) has approximately 20,000 employees providing health services to our communities through district, regional and some national services. The region stretches from Hawkes Bay and Whanganui in the north, Horowhenua and Kapiti Coast to the west, Palmerston North in the centre, Wairarapa to the east, and Hutt Valley and Wellington to the south.

Our region is sparsely populated with most of the population clustered in urban areas: Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, Whanganui, Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Porirua, Hutt Valley and Wellington.

About the Role 

This role is part time, for a two-year fixed tenure. Given the nature of the role, the postholders will be senior clinicians currently employed by Health NZ who will be seconded into the Regional Clinical Lead role. The Clinical Lead role will work closely, alongside, the Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network Manager.

The role will report to the Executive Regional Director, strategic direction will be provided by the National Cancer Clinical Network and National Cancer Services Planning and Delivery Forum, which the Clinical lead will be a part of. The Clinical lead will work alongside the Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network Manager and ensure that each regions workplan is aligned to National Cancer Services Planning and Delivery Forum and National Cancer Clinical Network priorities.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership, delivering on strategic direction at the regional level. It contributes to transforming the cancer service delivery across the region by providing leadership of the Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network. It will drive integrated service delivery to ensure provision of care, which is equitable throughout the region, high quality, sustainable, and whānau-centred.
