Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in improving the quality and safety of health and disability services across Aotearoa New Zealand. As a Quality Improvement Advisor, you'll lead assurance and improvement activities across a portfolio of funded services—working closely with providers, clinicians, consumers, and whānau to drive meaningful, system-wide change.
You'll provide confidence to the public and internal stakeholders that services are safe, effective, and continuously improving, while championing a strong culture of quality, learning, and equity across the NGO sector.
About the Team
You'll join a collaborative and purpose-driven Programme and Performance team, working alongside regional leads, analytical specialists, and planning teams. Together, the team is focused on strengthening service quality, informing system design, and improving outcomes for communities.
The team values partnership, evidence-informed decision making, and continuous improvement, and works closely with Māori, Pacific providers, and the wider sector to ensure services are responsive and equitable.
About you
You're a highly capable quality improvement professional who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by making a genuine difference to service quality, safety, and equity. You bring a strong blend of analytical thinking, relationship management, and practical delivery—able to turn insight into action and influence change across the system.
You're confident leading quality assurance and improvement activities across a diverse portfolio, including overseeing provider audits, following up corrective actions, and ensuring services meet required standards. You use data and evidence to identify risks, trends, and opportunities, and can develop and implement targeted quality improvement plans that deliver measurable results.
You build trusted relationships with providers, clinicians, and communities, working collaboratively to strengthen service delivery and outcomes. You champion consumer and whānau voice in improvement efforts and ensure insights are shared across teams to inform planning, commissioning, and service design.
