About the Role
As a Business Support / Executive Assistant, you will provide high-level executive and administrative support to members of the national Executive Leadership Team within Funding Hospital directorate which is part of the Planning, Funding and Outcomes Business Unit. You will play a critical role in ensuring leaders are supported to deliver strategic priorities effectively, while managing sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. This is not your standard EA role as you will be supporting the director of Funding Hospitals as well as their leadership team.
This is a busy and varied role where no two days are the same. You will manage complex calendars, travel arrangements, meetings, reports, Machinery of government requests (OIAs, briefings, etc), financial administration and stakeholder communications, while also supporting wider team coordination and operational processes. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will build strong relationships across the organisation and help create smooth, efficient ways of working for senior leaders and their teams.

You will be part of a national team within Funding Hospitals, supporting leaders who work collaboratively to improve health outcomes for communities across New Zealand. The team is fast-paced, supportive and focused on delivering high-quality services that make a meaningful difference for patients and whānau. This role is based in Wellington.

You bring a calm, solutions-focused approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of an organisation. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, handling sensitive information with discretion, and adapting quickly to changing business needs while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and support. You will bring:
- Previous experience in an Executive Assistant or senior business support role supporting senior leaders
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Experience with administration processes including travel coordination, invoicing and expense management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Experience with Machinery of Government
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
