Delivery Lead - Intelligence - NPHS at Te Whatu Ora, Wellington

About the Role

We have the opportunity available to join our Intelligence directorate within the National Public Health Service (NPHS) as a Delivery Lead in a permanent, full-time role. This is a key role to improve the quality of Intelligence Directorate programmes that support equitable health outcomes for all New Zealanders.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership, management, delivery oversight and expert support to ensure delivery of these programmes and projects from initiation to implementation.

The Delivery Lead is responsible for providing strategic leadership to deliver a number of priority programmes and projects of work to support and improve service delivery across the Intelligence directorate to impact public health outcomes. The mahi is varied, for example programmes would range from rolling out a consistent planning and reporting process across the directorate; supporting delivery of new and enhanced technology products and services; or running small projects on onboarding kaimahi to analytical tools and data sets. The role would also support an uplift across the directorate in project and programme management skills.          

As a lead in Intelligence, you are expected to be a present, visible leader, committed to foster an in-person (where feasible) environment and culture. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

About you

You have strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information and provide advice to senior leaders. You thrive on interpreting complex technical information, producing clear ideas and proposing solutions (or developing appropriate conclusions), then communicating these in a manner that is understood by the audience. You have strong programme management skills, being able to deliver on multiple projects, working with multiple stakeholders. You will be skilled across a number of common workflow management tools, including Sharepoint and Jira.

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
  • Experience managing a significant programme of work, with multiple project streams
  • Has demonstrated ability to work with Senior Leaders
  • Ideally experienced and proficient with Jira workflow management tool
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in everyday mahi
  • Demonstrated experience in the health sector
  • Displays initiative, flexibility and positively contributes to the whole team
  • Able to use your well-developed written and oral communication skills to persuade and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships at all levels and across organisations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
