Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The key responsibility for this role is to provide consistently high quality business advice and contract management to support BreastScreen Aotearoa's management of New Zealand breast screening services. The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing contracts and relationships with providers. This includes monitoring, evaluation and reporting on performance, as well as providing feedback to providers. The Senior Portfolio Manager is also responsible for providing timely and accurate advice to the team on effective and efficient funding and contracting processes.
They will lead, develop, and manage the development and management of contractual arrangements for breast screening services as well as the contract implementation and transition of BreastScreen Aotearoa contracts. Lead the development of high quality and comprehensive data collection activities to facilitate compliance monitoring and deal with complex and difficult service provider issues. They will work closely with staff including management to recognise emerging trends and identify future opportunities.
This is a secondment/ fixed term opportunity until September 2024.

The ideal candidate will need to formulate strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally and be driven to meet required deadlines. Couple this with your strong knowledge of contract management and your ability to multi-task will set you apart from the rest.
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Experience of leading projects or programmes of work and/or change management
- Ability to prioritise, lead, manage and deliver complex programmes from planning to completion
- Extensive experience in contract negotiation, implementation, governance and performance management
- Demonstrable relationship management skills with ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High quality project management skills and experience
- Sound judgement, discretion, and proven ability to work under pressure
