Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The purpose of the Senior Advisor Media is to provide proactive and responsive media management services to Te Whatu Ora, which demonstrates commitment to quality, consistency, and alignment across the organisation. This position is responsible for implementing proactive communications strategies to help improve the organisation's reputation and to help meet our broader communications objectives.
Mōu | About you
We are seeking three Senior Media Advisors who will have experience in providing proactive high-quality advice and direction to the media strategy and work programmes, ensuring alignment with the overall communications strategy. Couple this with your ability to draw on data, insights and use your critical thinking to deliver work outcomes that support the team and support the appropriateness and effectiveness of their media approach. The ideal candidate will have some working knowledge on providing high quality analysis and written advice on the changing media environment and responses to it, to ensure provision of robust high-level analysis, evaluation, and advice, on current and future media strategies.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Daily journalism experience preferably in NZ
- A minimum 5 year's operating at a Senior advisor level
- Strong relationship management
This role requires and/or would benefit from the following
- An understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
