Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
You will join the Datums Squad at Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand where you will:
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and development of New Zealand's survey control and geodetic systems
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and partners
- Provide expert advice on the operation of the geodetic system, both internally within Toitū Te Whenua and externally to customers and stakeholders
- Analyse geodetic survey data and integrate it into the national Geodetic Database
- Participate in geodetic fieldwork activities as required from time to time
- Work in a supportive and collaborative environment within a team of geospatial specialists
He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Surveying or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience working as a field surveyor
- Proven involvement in a diverse range of surveying projects, with hands-on experience using various technologies and equipment
- Proficient in SNAP software and/or similar adjustment packages
- Strong analytical expertise and experience in managing geospatial data
- Demonstrated experience in customer engagement and stakeholder interaction
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within small teams and with external customers
- Genuine interest in contributing to the development of New Zealand's geodetic system and processes
- Contract management experience or knowledge
- Have experience with geodetic computations, including GNSS data processing
Desirable:
- Be familiar with New Zealand's geodetic system and its relationship to the cadastre

The expected appointing range for this role is between $87-100 000.
