Job Description

This programme has moved into a national phase, and a structured leader is required to drive the national programme forward. This is a high-profile programme of work, working across multiple agencies and involving all Regional Councils and Unitary Authorities. The Project Director will need to be an influencer, able to operate at senior levels within the Ministry as well as with government, agencies, councils and industry. An ability to digest and interpret highly technical information is essential, as well as dealing with multiple stakeholders with often different outcomes sought

This is a small, highly skilled and multi-tasking team. The ability to juggle multiple priorities and ensure various work streams are planned and delivered is essential. MfE also operates a strong networked way of working between business groups, and your skills will be called upon at times to provide support and assistance to other Ministry priorities as necessary.

  • Overall oversight and leadership of the team running the PFAS All of Government programme
  • Support to programme Governance
  • Ministerial updates as requested
  • Development and delivery of National Programme priorities
  • Operational lead of the All of Government working group

  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Management experience, ideally with central and/or local government

  • Sound understanding of the machinery of government
