Job Description

Closing Date:  18 November 2018

This is a 12 month secondment or fixed term role from 4 February 2019 – 7 February 2020 based in Wellington. The Ministry actively supports flexible working.

Our vision is to make New Zealand the most liveable place in the world for our children, their children and their mokopuna. It's a purpose that puts every New Zealander at the heart of our work, and recognises the crucial role that the environment plays in all aspects of our lives. It is at the centre of who we are as Kiwis and underpins our economic prosperity, our health and our physical and cultural well-being.

Are you looking for experience or to continue your experience in a public sector legal team working on priority policy areas including resource management, water and waste management?

Do you enjoy providing client-focussed advice and being a part of a high performing, highly collaborative and engaged team?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented solicitor to join our Legal Team on 12 month secondment or fixed term from 4 February 2019.  Your role will involve providing legal advice and input to all aspects of the Ministry's work and functions as an organisation, including developing legislation, advising on statutory and corporate functions, as well as contract and funding advice.
