We are looking for a creative, passionate and data savvy Advisor to join our small supportive team of sustainability professionals. Our Sustainability Strategy is MfE's public commitment to operating within our baseline, minimising our environmental impact, and providing our people with what they need to flourish. In this role you will help lead and coordinate the Ministry's ambitious sustainability programme. Whilst largely focussed internally, the team also provides advice on best practice across government.
To do this role well, you will love playing with data, developing our systems and be able to communicate this effectively. You will build great relationships internally and externally. You'll be politically savvy, and a creative thinker and influencer with an ability to grasp multiple viewpoints. You will be happy doing a variety of activities and projects.
Ideally you will have a track record of implementing sustainable business strategies and initiatives and engaging and collaborating with others to achieve effective outcomes. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in areas that interest you most - for example procurement, communications and behaviour change.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Strong data skills, preferably excellent in the use of Excel and Power BI. Some knowledge of Python would be desirable.
- Analysis skills with the ability to evaluate and provide insights for a variety of audiences
- Experience providing advice and support to an organisation on sustainability issues is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities and to achieve deadlines and project and programme outputs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Personal drive, enthusiasm and curiosity
- Keenness to bring Te Ao Māori, Mātauranga and Te Tiriti into your work everyday.
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $77,280 to $93,565 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
