This role is a fixed term position in response to increased demand within our high priority work programmes. We are surging in people and resources in response to these priorities.

Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role   

Are you passionate about working with and analysing environmental data?

We're looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join the Data System Improvements team to support our work to improve the environmental, climate and resource management data systems.

This role will deliver a small number of key projects designed to automate core data and reporting products. Likely areas of focus include improving emissions data delivery processes, automating environmental monitoring and reporting processes, and integrating geospatial data.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience   

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • A mix of data, analysis and advisory skills.
  • 2+ years experience using R and Python to analyse environmental or climate data.
  • Experience in data management including familiarity with ETL and version control processes (eg Git).
  • Familiarity using GIS products (eg ArcGIS, QGIS, FME).
  • Experience with agile project delivery methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a future focused mindset in improving the ways we work with data.

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range  

Salary range for this role is $80,712 to $97,721 pa.  Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
