Join our team and help shape one of Aotearoa's most significant system reforms

As part of the establishment of three new senior leadership roles supporting one of Aotearoa's most significant system reforms, we're creating three fixed‑term Personal Assistant positions through to the end of June 2027. These roles will provide high‑quality executive support during this critical phase of transformation.

Each Personal Assistant role will support two senior leaders in a fast-paced environment alongside a passionate and dedicated team.

You'll join a connected, collaborative Executive Support team, working with leaders and colleagues across the Ministry and beyond. Your proactive, solutions-focused support will help your leaders deliver high‑quality policy work by making their days smoother and more effective. Your reliable, calm approach will mean your leader has what they need to focus on the job at hand, whether that's advising Ministers, leading their team, or engaging with the sector.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience 

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Strong experience providing high level executive support, preferably within a government organisation
  • Expertise in diary management and inbox support
  • Excellent organisational skills, initiative and good attention to detail
  • Fantastic relationship management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proactive approach to prioritising conflicting priorities and ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Advanced computer skills including sound knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products
  • Commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori.

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary Range

Salary range for this role is 70,217 to $84,892pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
