TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY
Come and make a difference to the health, wellbeing and equity of our tamariki (children) and whānau (family).
Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti is seeking a General Paediatrician to join six other specialists in our sunny seaside New Zealand community. We also encourage applications from Advanced Trainees currently completing their specialist training who are seeking their first consultant position.
We are a small, dynamic team looking to employ a suitably qualified Paediatrician to work collaboratively and cohesively with the wider Paediatric team to provide effective services for the Tairāwhiti region.
The Paediatric team provides inpatient, outpatient and community services to the Tairāwhiti population (approx. 48000, with 50% Māori ethnicity). The Paediatricians share a 1:6 acute roster providing care to all tamariki from birth to 16 years. We have a level 2 Neonatal Unit with excellent tertiary support from Wellington, and close working relationships with tertiary Specialists at Starship Hospital.
Our service kaupapa (foundational goal) is to improve the health and wellbeing of our tamariki and whānau to enable them to flourish. We have exciting initiatives occurring that are expanding the concept of healthcare delivery and partnering with our local Māori health providers, with the opportunity for you to be involved in these.
Why choose to come to Tairāwhiti?
· We are a young, dynamic, collegial team of Paediatricians.
· We encourage and support personal and professional development through secondment and CME leave.
· We offer generous relocation packages.
· The daily commute is 15 minutes at most!
