Salary details: $82,856 – $116,390+ Kiwisaver, covered by the Te Whatu Ora/PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical Collective Agreement
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Join our clinical pharmacy team in a rotational role that offers hands-on experience across a variety of services within a tertiary facility renowned for high-quality care in specialties such as medical, surgical, mental health, cardiology, renal, critical care, paediatrics, and more. You'll rotate through all areas of our pharmacy service, including clinical and ward work, the haematology, oncology, and compounding teams, as well as the quality and safe use of medicines team, and both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings, providing a comprehensive learning environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provide inpatient care, including medicines reconciliation, medication review, patient counselling, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Work in both the inpatient dispensary and possible back up for outpatient community pharmacy.
- Rotate through the oncology, haematology, and compounding unit.
- Involvement with the safe use of medicines team undertaking medicines information, medicines safety initiatives and clinical trials.
- Engage in your professional and clinical development with mentors and supervisors in a supportive and interactive environment.
- Involvement with occasional weekend shifts compensated at overtime rates, plus opportunities to participate in the on-call roster as needed.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
Essential
- Registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
- A current annual practising certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
- New graduates and community pharmacists welcome to apply!
Desirable
- 3 to 7 years’ experience as a pharmacist.
- Hospital level experience.
- Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy.
- Current New Zealand driver’s license.
