Clinical Team Leader - CADS Pregnancy and Parental Service

Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland are looking for a full time Clinical Team Leader to work in our Pregnancy and Parental Service (PPS) based in Point Chevalier, Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland

About us

CADS are the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in New Zealand and provide free community and inpatient treatment from a number of locations across Tamaki Makaurau. CADS are committed to empowering the community to reduce the harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and wellbeing.

About the team

PPS is a multi-disciplinary regional service which works with pregnant women and parents of children under three years of age who are experiencing problematic alcohol and/or other drug use, are disconnected from health and social services and who may be experiencing multiple and complex problems including family violence, physical and mental health issues, inadequate housing, socio-economic issues and stigma.

The aim of PPS is to improve outcomes for the unborn and young children via interventions that reduce harm and positively impact and enhance their future health and wellbeing related trajectories.

Our team is resourced to provide assertive outreach and spend time developing therapeutic relationships with tangata whai I te ora and their whanau to provide evidence-based interventions which strengthen the family environment utilising client led, strength based goal planning.

About you

You will be an experienced, fully registered clinician with a qualification in: applied alcohol and drug studies, nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or midwifery.

The Team Leader position brings an opportunity to enrich your clinical practice and leadership/managerial skills. The role involves direct contact with tangata whai I te ora/clients, as well as supporting clinicians and peer support specialists in their practice and contributing to on-going recruitment and retention, as well as improvement of quality practice and processes.

Essential

A harm reduction and equity focus as well as the ability to be strengths and solution focussed is required. You will have a non-judgemental approach, excellent engagement and communication skills, and an ability to work autonomously and within a team. You will also have:

· Leadership and/or managerial experience

· Clinical experience in the addiction or mental health sector, or similar

· Full registration with professional body (dapaanz , nursing, social work, counselling, psychology, occupational therapy or related fields)

· Full, clean drivers licence

· Legal right to work in NZ

· Ability to implement Te Tiriti O Waitangi in your daily work

Preferred

· Experience working with other health and social service providers including Oranga Tamariki, Corrections, Māori health providers and NGO’s.

· Experience in group facilitation
