Work as the Lead systems architect in the emerging Pega platform within NZTA. This platform has been built up over the last 2 years and is now ready to be expanded to meet our business objectives. This is a key role to support the programme in selecting and delivering the best solutions for New Zealand.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to lead the Pega direction within NZTA from a strategic and technical perspective while ensuring we are in alignment with the wider enterprise architecture roadmaps. As part of the Architecture Chapter, this role will be expected to contribute to improving the processes and defining design patterns and monitoring junior architects as required.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 10+ years of Pega experience and 5+ years as Pega Technical Lead with multiple project experience.
- Pega LSA OR Pega CSSA certification is must.
- Solid Experience interpreting business needs and translating these into practical designs
- Solid Experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
- Solid Experience in the use of multiple modern technology methodologies and frameworks
- Solid Experience in modern toolsets and approaches e.g. collaboration, automation, security, cloud
- Solid Experience in Architecture modelling tools and frameworks E.g. TOGAF, Archimate.
- Experience in mentoring and upskilling others on Pega design concepts and approaches.
- Experience in managing technical delivery, ensuring successful outcomes while collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and technical subject matter experts.
- Strong understanding of technical solutions, design patterns, and coding practices for medium to complex applications in a clustered environment.
- Deep understanding of Pega development practices and guardrails
- Experience designing and building modern integration services REST, SOAP etc.
- Proven experience in designing Pega applications.
- Proficient in Pega govt. framework.
- Familiarity with NZISM security principles and best practices
- Experience with Pega SaaS will be highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary level qualification in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Pega LSA or CSSA certification a must.
