The role | Te tūnga
Stats NZ has a strategic goal to become an organisation that use Admin Data First. A linked set of base Domains (Business, Place, and Person) is a step towards an Integrated Statistical Data System (ISDS), and a foundational enabler for processing administrative data for statistical purposes, including supporting the next census.
The products from these base statistical domains will become a core part of Stats NZ's national statistical data infrastructure. Through use of ISDS Stats NZ will be better set up to use integrated administrative and survey data for the delivery of essential statistics underpinning social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing.
Our Senior Advisor will be working on engagement with a wide range of customers and across the organisation to enable development and delivery of the ISDS. You will provide technical leadership and support to others in your team to enable delivery of the ISDS programme of work, with a focus on the social domain. You will provide strategic advice round the future direction of the ISDS, provide expert advice about the views, interests and concerns of Te Tiriti partners and customers, and support ISDS delivery.
A key focus and interest of the role will be on the building of trust and confidence into the work we do on the ISDS. Initial work will include Te Tiriti analyses, Privacy Impact Assessments and other key stewardship documentation.
Key to the success of this role is the ability to:
- Partner with internal and external customers and stakeholders to bring people along on the ISDS journey, building trust and confidence in what we do
- Network and build connections across Stats NZ and beyond
- Learn on the job.
- Apply your knowledge of Māori tikanga to your work.
