Ward Clerk, Healthy Ageing & Rehabilitation Wards at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral, Manawatu / Whanganui

About the Role

We are looking for an amazing ward clerk to join our Healthy Ageing and Rehabilitation (HAR) cluster in Palmerston North Hospital as well as Horowhenua Health Centre. This role will be covering multiple wards.

Our HAR wards are an older adult acute assessment unit, a rehabilitation ward, older adult mental health unit, based at Palmerston North Hospital and STAR 4 based in Levin.

Hours of work will be 8am - 4.30pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday however flexibility to provide cover across all HAR Wards will be required. This will be further discussed at the time of the interview.

About you

The successful applicant will need to be customer focused with excellent communication and administrative skills including:

  • Proven word processing and working knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Experience with data entry
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of accuracy
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Have a customer-focused approach to all aspects of work
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
