Clinical Team Co-ordinator Pharmacy at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, Northland

About the Role

As a Clinical Pharmacy Team Coordinator, you will lead, develop and ensure delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the patients, other service users and staff of Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau. You will lead other members of the clinical pharmacy team in a professional, ethical manner and support them to deliver a high quality, equitable clinical service.

Key responsibility areas include:

  • Clinical and operational leadership and coordination
  • Resource allocation
  • Provision of information, patient education, teaching and supervision
  • Service delivery and development, and clinical performance monitoring
  • Quality improvement and assurance
  • General pharmacist duties

What we can offer you

Remuneration for this role is $117,420 $122,570 ($56.45 - $58.93 per hour) for full time equivalent, dependent on experience.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Whangarei Hospital is a medium sized (approximately 260 beds) secondary hospital located in Whangarei (approximately 2 hours north of Auckland), unique in terms of the diverse, high-needs population we serve. Our service is committed to providing excellent patient-centred care and achieving equitable health outcomes through collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.

With a talented team of approximately 20 pharmacists, we provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatient areas across Medicine, Surgery, Older Peoples Health & Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Childrens Health, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases & Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cancer and Blood services and Renal services.

About you

  • Applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, a current Annual Practising Certificate issued by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. If you are applying from outside New Zealand, please specify the registration pathway relevant to you and indicate your current stage in that process.
  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical area (or equivalent pharmacy experience)
  • At least five years post-registration experience as a practising pharmacist
  • Recent hospital pharmacy experience in a senior clinical role
  • Proven experience with diverse teams and achieving goals
  • Proven experience in communicating with and influencing diverse groups of people
  • Experience in educating and supporting others
  • Candidates that have previous experience of project management, quality improvement initiatives, staff management, leadership and coordination are desired.
