About the Role

We are seeking a person-directed, values-driven Team Lead to join the TACT Team within our Local Adult Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Service.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced clinicians to deliver safe, effective, and integrated specialist mental health and addiction care across our local communities. We welcome applications from registered clinicians with a range of professional backgrounds and value the diverse experience and perspectives that candidates bring to this work.

You will have a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and including those experiencing homelessness or significant social disadvantage. Experience within health or social service environments will be beneficial, along with the capability to lead or manage a small multidisciplinary team and support clinicians to deliver compassionate, person-directed care.

About the Team/Service Location

TACT supports individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs, often alongside significant social, personal, and housing challenges.

The service brings together a range of health professionals to deliver integrated, person-centred care, aiming to create meaningful change where this has previously been difficult to achieve.

TACT focuses on individuals who have historically struggled to engage with standard community mental health services and who are at increased risk of relapse or inpatient admission. The team works flexibly and assertively to build trust, reduce barriers to engagement, and support recovery in the community.

About you

• You will be an experienced, registered mental health professional who is passionate about working in a way that is person-directed, trauma-informed, compassionate, and offers help and hope.
• You will work in a way that is holistic, integrated and collaborative, recognising people's physical health and social needs and in partnership with primary care and non-government (NGO) providers.
• You understand the importance of cultural competence and equity, providing practice that is consistent with the spirit and intent of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi.
• You understand the importance of person-directed care and intentional peer support.
• You are mindful of the needs of our diverse population, for instance, Pacific peoples, refugee and migrant communities, disabled people/tāngata whaikaha, rainbow communities, and those living in rural areas/isolated from health services.
• You will be a registered mental health professional with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• You must have a full and clean Driver's License and the ability to consent and complete NZ or international Police vetting (Vulnerable Children's Act 2015).
