The Operational Controls Assurance Lead provides end-to-end oversight and assurance across the ACC's operational control environment, strengthening effective first line of defence risk and control management. The role ensures key operational controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively, while driving continuous improvement in operational control maturity and practices across the business.
The role provides independent insight and challenge, leads operational control testing activities, identifies systemic control gaps, and oversees the development, monitoring, and remediation of control improvement actions.
Through effective engagement and reporting the Operational Controls Assurance Lead helps ensure a robust operational control environment and improved organisational operational risk outcomes.

You will bring:
- Extensive track record in operational risk management, including strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, control design principles, and control assurance practices.
- Demonstrated experience providing leadership, oversight, and subject matter expertise in operational risk and control environments, including guiding business stakeholders to strengthen risk and control practices.
- Leadership capability, including the ability to plan and prioritise work, manage competing priorities, lead initiatives, and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels, including senior leaders, and translate complex information into clear, practical insights.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to constructively challenge, influence outcomes without direct authority, and navigate complex organisational environments.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and data analysis capability, with the ability to work through complex, ambiguous, and emerging issues.
- Experience interpreting, modelling, and documenting business processes using recognised process modelling tools and techniques.
- Experience leading or contributing to business improvement initiatives, including planning, analysis, design, implementation, and post-implementation review.
- Proven ability to apply and operate within established frameworks, standards, and methodologies (e.g. risk, compliance, project, or process methodologies).
- Experience working in large, complex organisational environments.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly develop an understanding of, ACC's business, structure, customers, legislative environment, and core business processes.

The appointing salary for this role starts at $120,000 - $150,000 we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution.
