About the Team

Our multidisciplinary team provides community-based secondary mental health services for tamariki and rangatahi experiencing severe mental health challenges across the Greater Hamilton area.

Our clinicians bring a wide range of skills and clinical expertise and are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for young people and their whānau. This is meaningful and rewarding work within a supportive and collaborative environment.

About Hamilton

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registration as a Psychologist with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience providing consultation and training to allied health professionals and community partners.
• Confidence in assessing, formulating and treating complex presentations requiring specialist psychological input.
• Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga and te reo Māori, or a willingness to actively grow your cultural capability.
• A full, unrestricted drivers licence.
• Experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
