At the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te Pā Whakamarumaru, we are dedicated to our mission of keeping Aotearoa New Zealand and our people safe and secure. We collect and analyse intelligence and security concerns to protect New Zealand from threats such as foreign interference, espionage and terrorism.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic technology professional to provide expertise to our Intelligence Directorate. In this role you will ensure we have the technology solutions we need to directly support our security and intelligence missions.

The role

The role involves researching, designing, implementing and supporting tech solutions, including consideration for enterprise integration.

You will come to understand your customers and the NZSIS strategy, aiming to provide optimum impact toward enhancing the NZ security apparatus. The data stored in our systems is taonga, so you will recognise the importance of balancing the need to get things done while maintaining good IT security and information management practices.

This is a multi-level role so you could be

Having the following skills will contribute to success in the role:

  • Able to develop strong and constructive relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Have a can-do attitude and gain satisfaction through working with others in a positive equal opportunity environment
  • Not afraid to step out of your comfort zone, learn and try new things - even if that means making mistakes sometimes
  • Your experience will ideally be supported by a Bachelor's degree or higher qualifications in one or more technical fields
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and a great attitude will be valued foremost

As this is a multi-levelled role, the level of appointment will be determined upon assessment of the preferred candidates skills and experience. The expected appointing range for each level is below:

Level 2: $103,009 - $109,876

OR

Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
