Team Support Administrator at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Auckland

  • Provide administrative and reception support for the Medical Oncology Day Stay Unit
  • Full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday during standard business hours
  • Based at Auckland City Hospital

About the Role

The Regional Cancer and Blood Service at Te Toka Tumai is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Team Administrator to join our friendly, supportive, and fast-paced Oncology Outpatients Department one of the largest oncology services in New Zealand.

This role plays an important part in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care to patients and their whānau. Reporting to the Oncology Charge Nurse, you will provide essential administrative and reception support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a wide range of administrative and reception duties for the department
  • Welcoming patients and visitors while coordinating clinic appointments
  • Supporting senior clinical management teams with clerical processes and daily operations
  • Assisting with the effective coordination of outpatient services in a busy healthcare environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 2 years experience in an administrative or customer service role
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • A positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
