About the Role

Te Whatu Ora Waikato manages the payroll requirements for a large number collective employment agreements, servicing approximately 9,000 employees. We are a major organisation making a difference in our community, with a high volume of critical, complex and challenging projects underway, such as Holidays Act rectification/remediation and an exciting pipeline of activity in the making. This is a high volume, and dynamic environment, working closely with key business partners.

We require an experienced Payroll Analyst who is passionate about continuous improvement. This role requires an individual who is adaptable and resilient. You will be a core part of the payroll team.

You will have key deliverables around future state processes for Payroll and be expected to get involved in all areas that require your skills. This means we are looking for someone with strong analytical and documentation skills as well as detailed payroll knowledge.

We are looking for people who are payroll savvy and can work with little direction on complex payroll analysis. Your ability to communicate and to be resourceful to ensure you have the answers you need is key.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the business processes feeding into Payroll to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Data Analysis and reporting
  • Supporting the Payroll Team to automate manual transactional work
  • To maximise the benefit of the HRIS System
  • Creating a positive workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion and equity
  • Developing and refining future state Payroll processes
  • Providing day to day support to the Payroll Manager and other Payroll personnel as required

About you

We are looking for a Payroll Analyst extraordinaire that is looking to take that next step in their career.

  • A Payroll Specialist background is preferred, with at least 5years of payroll experience
  • Adaptable and resilient with the ability to multi-task well
  • Analytical/Reporting skills (experience using PowerAutomate, PowerBI and SQL is preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to relate with people from different walks of life
  • PeopleSoft (HRIS) experience preferred
