Registered Nurse Haemodialysis at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough, Nelson Hospital

  • Permanent part time up to 0.9FTE (72 hours a fortnight)
  • Haemodialysis or renal nursing preferred, but training is offered

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse within the Haemodialysis Service, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals requiring renal treatment. You will be responsible for delivering safe and effective haemodialysis treatments, monitoring patient wellbeing, and supporting patients and their whānau throughout their dialysis journey.

This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist renal nursing skills while working closely with a multidisciplinary team committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease.

The role involves working rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Saturday, providing flexibility to support the operational requirements of the Haemodialysis Service and the needs of our patients.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Haemodialysis Service provides life-sustaining treatment and ongoing support for patients across the Nelson Marlborough region. Our service is focused on patient-centred care while empowering patients to actively participate in managing their health and wellbeing.

Our Haemodialysis team is made up of experienced and supportive nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional renal care. We work collaboratively with Specialist Physicians, allied health professionals, and community providers to ensure continuous improvement, patient safety, and providing compassionate care that reflects the needs of our growing community.

About you

You will have:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
  • Recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in haemodialysis, nephrology, medical, or acute care nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a rapport with patients and whānau
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn specialist haemodialysis nursing skills
