Geriatrician - Older Adults - part-time at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Waitematā, Auckland

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Geriatrician - Older Adults - Part-Time

Te Whatu Ora - Waitemata

Would you like to provide direct clinical care and improve outcomes for patients, all whilst living in one of the most liveable cities in the world? Waitematā District is a major provider of healthcare services in North and West Auckland, serving a population of approximately 640,000 people and employing more than 8,400 people.

This is a new consultant role and will be focused on enabling best practice specialist medical care for geriatric patients both in the community and as in-patients directly and through interactions with junior and senior orthopaedic medical staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the clinical director of geriatrics to develop and implement a new model of care for older inpatients. A key component of the implementation will be leading and developing the clinical excellence and performance measures and the continuous quality improvement programme for the geriatric service.

Auckland, New Zealand consistently ranks as one of the worlds most liveable cities. The natural environment and subtropical climate, stable political and social environment, and a comprehensive publicly funded health system were the top three contributing factors for Auckland achieving this spot in the rankings.

Auckland is also famous for its easy access to beaches and bush walks, along with numerous high quality restaurants and wineries.

In return, you will be given a wonderful opportunity to work in a supportive environment with many opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

The successful candidate will be registered (or registrable) with the New Zealand Medical Council and if you are from overseas or outside Auckland, our candidate care team will help with the logistics of immigration and relocation, to make your move as smooth as possible.
