About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team in Whangarei as a part of our Renal Service. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced nursing practice role and is the clinical expert responsible for providing patient education, training and ongoing community support to patients and whanau living with chronic kidney disease. You will maintain and enhance the professional standards of nursing and participate as an effective member of the wider Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau organisation.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Renal Service has a MDT approach to patient care across Outpatient, Community and Inpatient settings.

The Peritoneal dialysis training Unit / Service is based Whangarei, and its focus is to work alongside patients/whanau to enable and support independent dialysis at home. You will work as part of team of 4 experienced Peritoneal dialysis Nurses.

About you

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • A current Expert Registered Nurse Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) Portfolio
  • Postgraduate diploma in specialty nursing practice
  • A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development

Whilst not essential, applicants with previous experience in Renal Peritoneal dialysis will be highly desired.
