About the Role

Bring your mental health nursing skills to a specialist service supporting rangatahi aged 13 to 18 and their whānau.  As Clinic Nurse within the CAMHS Adolescent Team, you will work closely with Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, supporting outpatient clinics, mental health assessment, treatment planning, medication monitoring, psychoeducation, and therapeutic care.  The role combines clinical practice with care coordination, helping rangatahi and whānau navigate their treatment and connect with the right supports.

About the Team/Service/Location

The CAMHS Adolescent Team is an experienced multidisciplinary service supporting rangatahi and whānau across Tauranga.  Nurses work alongside Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and other health professionals to provide coordinated, evidence-based care.  The team values shared clinical knowledge, professional development, and strong connections with whānau, schools, primary care, and community services.

About You

You are a Registered Nurse with a strong interest in adolescent mental health and a natural ability to connect with young people and whānau.  Calm and thoughtful when situations become complex, you bring sound clinical judgement, warmth, and confidence to your practice while valuing the expertise of those around you.

What you will bring:

  • Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Mental Health scope of practice
  • Mental Health nursing experience, ideally within child, adolescent, or youth services
  • Understanding of adolescent development and contemporary youth mental health practice
  • Skills in mental health and risk assessment, safety planning, and therapeutic engagement
  • Confidence supporting rangatahi experiencing complex mental health presentations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with rangatahi, whānau, and partner services
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to recovery focused, developmentally appropriate, and whānau-centred care
  • Full NZ drivers licence
