0.8 Permanent Position – Hawke’s Bay
Applications are invited from a suitably qualified and experienced Advisor on Deaf Children to join our innovative team providing services to deaf and hearing-impaired children and their families. The successful applicant will provide specialist advice and guidance to all children and young people aged from 0 – 21 years with sensori-neural or long-term conductive hearing loss, their families and support services.
A Postgraduate degree in Special Education (Sensory Disability) and a Diploma of Advisor on Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Children or equivalent qualification is required. An experienced Teacher of the Deaf (TOD) or Speech-Language Therapist (SLT) may be considered for the position but will be required to complete suitable training courses which may be cross credited to an appropriate Masters level qualification. A Ministry of Education Study Award may be available to support the appointee undertaking this training.
Travel outside of the Hawke’s Bay district may be required. Applicants must have a current driver’s license.
