Sector Enablement and Support (SE&S) is the key interface between the ministry and early learning providers, schools and kura. It is our role to ensure that sector leaders and the communities in which they operate have access to the expertise, programmes and resources that will allow our children and young people to reach their full potential.

We give effect to government and ministry policy and support education and community leadership to bring about the positive changes required to lift aspiration, and raise educational achievement for all.

The Director of Education leads the Ministry’s work programme across Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu. They ensure that early learning providers, schools and kura have access to the right support and resources to allow the region’s children and young people to reach their full potential.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to provide executive support to the Director of Education.

Are you able to effectively manage a busy schedule and perform a wide variety of tasks? Do you have the initiative, tact and maturity to provide independent judgement? Do you have motivation, adaptability and flexibility to back yourself to get the job done?

To have real success in this role you will have:

• drive and passion

• strong time management and organisation skills

• ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts
