We are looking for a top-notch communications specialist to lead our small professional communications and administration teams.
The Communications team sits in the Office of the Chief Executive of NZQA and the Team Leader, Communications is responsible for advice to the Chief Executive regarding NZQA’s field of work. You will be also responsible for on-going implementation of NZQA’s overall communications strategy, the identification of communications risks and opportunities, and for oversight of all official correspondence to the Office.
You’ll be self-motivated, decisive, flexible, able to work independently and to take the initiative in high-profile, high-risk situations. We’ll be able to count on you to show sound judgement, and excellent risk management skills.
You’ll be responsible for all corporate communications and media management as well as financial management of the team’s budget, but in addition you’ll lead a skilled team to create an environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships and achieves high performance. You’ll lead, coach and motivate the team to achieve NZQA goals, including our demanding ‘Future State’ programme.
The Communications team, and particularly the Team Leader, requires a sound understanding of the diverse backgrounds of NZQA clients and NZQA’s commitment to both Te Rautaki Māori (our Māori strategy) and our Pasifika strategy.
