Child, Youth and Family's Residential Services operate a therapeutic group home in Invercargill. These homes are places of safety where young people aged between 12-17 years have the opportunity to address unsafe challenging behaviours and develop life skills. The purpose of this home is to support young people in making good life choices, strengthening family/whānau relationships, and safe reintegration back into the community.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader to manage, support and provide personal development for the staff in the home. This includes overseeing the delivery of the therapeutic model and facilitating strong relationships with specialist providers, community groups and other stakeholders. In addition, the Team Leader will work closely with the young people in the home, as part of the structured daily programme.

This is a permanent full-time position. Hours will be predominantly Mon to Fri, and will require some afterhours work from time to time.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • proven experience in successfully leading and managing service delivery operations
  • passion for working with young people with complex needs, and an understanding of brain/behaviour and/or social work practices
  • ability to collaborate with interagency partners and the wider community to achieve mutually agreed goals
  • strong expertise in business planning, financial management, resource allocation and performance monitoring processes
  • excellent computer, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • a relevant tertiary qualification is desirable
  • a current full 'clean' driver's licence, as some local travel is required.
