Our newly-appointed Communications Manager is setting up a refreshed Communications team here at the Hutt Valley DHB – part of a wider organisational change that has been undertaken recently. As a result, we are looking to recruit a full-time generalist Communications Advisor who can work across a broad communications portfolio of work in a large and dynamic organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 2- 3 years of experience in communications, or from a journalism background.
You will provide specialist advice to senior leaders and managers across the range of communications activity – media liaison, internal communications, social media, writing for the web and stakeholder engagement.
We are seeking candidates who have superb oral and written communications skills, are savvy with technology, have some flair and creativity and have a ‘can do’ attitude. You need to have excellent judgement and confidence in providing advice at a high level. You don’t need to have knowledge of District Health Boards but an understanding of the health sector will be beneficial. You will need to be agile and flexible, adept at managing competing demands on your time and comfortable working in a small team. We expect you to have a relevant degree and two to three years work experience in a similar role.
