Working with a multidisciplinary team of professionals committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with education needs. You will be responsible for providing high quality services to children with high and complex needs in, educational settings with a focus on severe and challenging behaviour.

Currently we have vacancies available witin Auckland 

This is your opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and interagency team in the Ministry of Education. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for driving and lifting outcomes for our children and young people.

Our Manukau District is affiliated with The Children’s Action Plan and actively participating and contributing to the Counties Manukau District Children’s Team. Early identification and preventative action with vulnerable children and their families/whanau is an important aspect of all our work. 

You will need:

  • An ability and willingness to work in collaborative partnership with other professionals, agencies, families and the sector;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to sustain productive professional relationships;
  • A genuine commitment to evidence based interventions which demonstrate inclusive education practice and contribute to raising student achievement;
  • New Zealand Psychologist Board registration and a Current Practicing Certificate or Eligibility for Registration in November 2016 (following your University Exam – you can apply for a position prior to the exam – if you are successful – appointment will be conditional to you passing the exam)
  • Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

 

A current driver’s licence is essential and experience in the NZ education system would be an advantage.
