Are you a Registered Nurse interested in pursuing a career in Wellbeing, Health and Safety?

The Canterbury District Health Board Wellbeing, Health and Safety Team enjoy involvement in a wide variety of projects and initiatives. An exciting opening has arisen in our team for an experienced Registered Nurse to join us as a Wellbeing Health and Safety Advisor and take the chance to follow an exciting career pathway in this interesting and challenging field of nursing. Based on the West Coast this role has the primary focus of to provide occupational health and safety advice, support and training to the managers and staff within the CDHB & WCDHB.

The position provides you with the opportunity to work both autonomously and as part of the wider Wellbeing, Health & Safety team developing systems and initiatives to keep people safe and well. Our team culture is flexible and collaborative as we partner with frontline managers across Canterbury and the West Coast DHBs to provide best practice Wellbeing, Health and Safety advice and support.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Current registration and APC with the New Zealand Nursing Council
  • Proven, effective and efficient written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A flair for developing relationships and networks
  • An ability to work autonomously and also as part of a close-knit collaborative team
  • An Authorised Vaccinators Certificate or be in a position to obtain one.

If you are a Registered Nurse who has an interest in working in Wellbeing, Health and Safety, this is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills in strategic thinking and programme development. Previous experience would be preferable, however is not essential.

Your ability to build extensive internal and external networks with your effective interpersonal and communication skills will see you succeed in this role.
