At Corrections we are passionate about achieving our goal of upholding public safety. We are united in our effort to reduce re-offending, helping offenders to turn their lives around through investments in employment and rehabilitation programmes, reintegration support and continuous improvement in the way our frontline and probation staff do their jobs.
Our policy team works on a diverse range of projects, including the development of ground-breaking legislation. It provides advice to senior leaders and the Minister of Corrections on a wide-range of emerging issues, such as the management of high risk offenders and the use of new technologies, and works across the justice sector to achieve shared objectives and deliver on government priorities.
As an integral team member, you will be tasked with providing policy advice and analysis on a range of complex issues to a variety of audiences. You will lead major policy projects, represent the Department in a range of justice and social sector forums, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on policy and legislative issues.
To be successful in this position you will demonstrate leadership of complex policy projects, ideally across multiple agencies, and possess strong strategic, analytical and creative capabilities. Coaching and mentoring policy staff will be part of this role, and you will maximise opportunities to lift the capability of the policy team through strong intellectual leadership.
As an individual you will have a positive attitude and a recognised ability to motivate others. You will be somebody who relishes the opportunity to be part of a highly motivated team where challenges and stimulation are central to your working life.
