At Corrections we are passionate about providing evidence-based advice on matters of critical importance to government and the New Zealand public, including community safety and reducing re-offending.
Our policy team works on a diverse range of projects, including the development of ground-breaking legislation. It provides advice to senior leadership and the Minister of Corrections on a wide-range of emerging issues, such as the management of high risk offenders and the use of new technologies, and works across the justice sector to achieve shared objectives and deliver on government priorities.
As an adviser, you will be a quick learner who can adapt information and analysis to meet the needs of different audiences. You will display initiative in your contributions to policy projects and confidence when liaising with internal and external stakeholders on policy and legislative issues.
As an individual you will have a positive attitude, a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and a collegial working style. You will be somebody who relishes the opportunity to be part of a highly motivated team where challenges and stimulation are central to your working life.
