Digital Producer (18 months fixed term)

Te Papa is building a team to design and deliver world leading, accessible, sustainable and delightful digital experiences, products and services that Te Papa’s customers love – both inside the museum and beyond its walls.

Our new appointees will be working within cross-functional teams from around Te Papa using lean and agile development techniques and audience centric and data driven approaches to build and evolve scalable, robust and innovative digital products.

The Digital Producer role will provide creative and project management oversight for delivering audience-focused digital products and experiences, both at the Museum and beyond. 

In this role you will:     

  • Lead the delivery of digital products from concept to implementation, working collaboratively with internal and external creative teams
  • Advocate for our audiences in the digital product life-cycle 
  • Use agile, design thinking and lean tools to prototype or prove concepts, to test the value of possible solutions for both audiences and Te Papa
  • Lead procurement processes for products and delivery partners

You are creative, motivated and highly organised person.  You are a passionate advocate for our audiences and take great pride in delivering educational, thought-provoking and entertaining experiences for them.  You’re able to think strategically, are results-oriented but also flexible and adaptable, as digital is fast-evolving.  You are technically savvy and keep up with the market.  Your clear communication and eye for style and quality complete the Digital Producer package.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in media arts, communications, broadcast journalism, film/television production, museum studies, or related fields, or at least 5 years’ experience working in these areas.
  • Relationship management skills, with an ability to lead and work with creative teams
  • Experience in digital project management and product development, including interactive and web production, immersive digital experiences, mobile technology, and publishing for multiple channels.
  • Proven experience of current digital media production methods and technology, from concept to delivery.
  • Experience managing procurement. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience.
