Job Description

Christchurch is called the Garden City for good reason! Our lovely Botanical Garden and Hagley Park are nestled close by the hospital and with summer here provide the perfect spots for leisurely strolls or picnics. You can go shopping in our unique Container Mall and take a break punting along the Avon!

If adventure is calling, we've got the Southern Hemisphere's largest Adventure Park coming this Summer! Located 5 kms from the city centre, there's bike trails and zip lines to thrill the daredevil in you. Vineyards, mountains or cafés are all within easy reach.

Christchurch Hospital is the largest provider of oncology services in the South Island of New Zealand. Offering comprehensive cancer treatment, we are proud of our services that include: four fully optioned Elekta Synergy/Versa accelerators, HDR Brachytherapy, CMS Monaco treatment planning, and a Siemens Somatom Definition AS scanner.

We are looking for a qualified Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join the team. You will assist us with the delivery of quality treatment, and play a key role in inter-disciplinary planning and treatment. You will bring excellent technical knowledge, a commitment to communication and teamwork and a strong quality focus. We will involve you in a wide range of physics activities with as much challenge as you’re willing to take. You will embrace change and lead the ongoing development of innovative and effective radiation oncology.

We’re keen to hear from Certified Medical Physicists (by ACPSEM or an international equivalent if you’re not from Australasia).
