We need an exceptional Service Designer with senior level skills to join our small design and innovation team at New Zealand Police. As a design and innovation function within a single jurisdiction Police organisation, we are globally leading in terms of the work that we do – applying user centred design thinking with technology enablement at both strategic and detailed levels.

We're looking for a Service Designer to work with the team on multiple initiatives that range from strategic end to end service definition and blue printing, through to UX visioning for mobile app features and technology concepting and prototyping.
You will be able to hit the ground running with the right experience – ability to lead initiatives and mentor other team members as well as being able to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and provide influence and leadership.
You’ll be working hand in hand with Interaction and Research Experience Designers to put together and articulate Service Visions and Service Blueprints.
It’s critical that you can demonstrate experience and tangible outcomes in these areas:
- Leading strategic service design initiatives or involvement with company transformation projects involving changes to culture, processes and technology (5 years minimum experience)
- Working on change programmes where mobile technologies are critical touchpoints for external customers and / or internal users
- Working within teams in a mentoring role
- Planning, facilitation and leadership of workshops with stakeholders at senior levels of an organisation.
As a strategic thinker and consummate problem solver, you will be skilled at guiding people through a process to bring disparate views together and achieve the best collaborative outcomes.
