Fixed Term / Secondment ending 30 June 2017

We have fixed term opportunities available for Central Processing Officers to be part of our Centralised Services Processing unit based in Whangarei. The unit provides a fast, efficient and accurate processing operation covering a range of processes for the Ministry of Social Development. The role of the Central Processing Officer is to assess and process a variety of transactions and ensure that the information recorded is accurate and complete within set timeframes. This includes communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in an appropriate and professional way.

We are looking for a person with the following attributes:

  • strong numerical and communication skills
  • fast and accurate data entry skills (numeric and alphanumeric)
  • good computer skills
  • can work well under constant pressure
  • flexible attitude and a team player
  • high levels of motivation and desire to achieve results
  • ability to prioritise work and manage time well.

The role requires you to be able to work full time (37 hours, 55 minutes) rostered shifts with varying start times between the hours of 6:55am and 10:00pm Monday to Friday and between 7:55am and 6:00pm on Saturday. The unit currently operates between the hours of 7.30 am and 6.00 pm.

 

The successful applicant must have:

  • current legal right to work in New Zealand
  • ability to meet the hours of work as outlined above
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • great time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • a flexible attitude and ability to cope with change in a fast-paced environment.
