Education Infrastructure Service (EIS) is the part of the Ministry which manages one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand. This includes approximately 2,400 primary and secondary schools and over 8,000 hectares of land with a book value of around $14.6b. Our vision is to build safe and inspiring learning environments, which will equip our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
About the role
The School Property Advisors work with Boards of Trustees and school management to develop and maintain school property. You will be providing advice and support for the management of a portfolio of schools over the short, medium and long term to meet ongoing and future educational requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need to have solid experience in property or asset management in the private and/ or public sector with significant focus on relationship management.
Given the size of the property portfolio, the mix of stakeholders and the objectives of the Ministry work programme, you need to be focused on providing high levels of service and advice. You will have good commercial acumen, strong customer focus skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
